The place is Prague, the time is idyllic 19th century. The style of old Prague beerhouses can hardly fail to impress a visiting New York private eye. There are not many, though, who know he is here on business, tracing a notorious criminal operating onan international scale. The latter, disguised as a scholar, is planning yet another of his heinous acts, one for which he intends to use the carnivorous plant dubbed Adele. Exposed to tones of Mozart´s music, Adele turns into a murderous monster. One of the most popular Czech comedies of all time, this film was created in collaboration with the world-renowned Surrealist animator and feature filmmaker, Jan Vankmajer.
